Dr. Piyawut Srichaikul has consistently engaged with computational science and engineering, and high performance computing on both local and international stages. His significant contributions to Thailand’s computational science and engineering community include:
– Founding member and organizing team leader of the 1st Annual Symposium and Computational Science and Engineering (ANSCSE) in 1996, supported by NECTEC NSTDA.
– Founding member and first President of the Computational Science and Engineering Association (CSEA) in 2007.
– NECTEC representative and founding member of The Pacific Rim Application and Grid Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA) in 2002.
– Key Opinion Leader representing Thailand in the ASEAN HPC Taskforce since 2018
Dr. Srichaikul’s most recent achievement was leading a dedicated team of young talents at the NSTDA Supercomputer Center (ThaiSC) to secure Thailand’s position on the global supercomputing stage. In November 2022, the LANTA supercomputer, managed by ThaiSC,
was ranked 70th in the TOP500 list of the world’s most powerful supercomputers.
